What we do

Impact windows & doors, specified opening by opening

Every opening on a Florida home has its own design pressure to meet, set by building height, roof overhang and where the opening sits on the wall. We specify against that, then install and see the permit through inspection.

  • Miami-Dade NOA approved products
  • Permit pulled & inspection handled
  • 1-year labour warranty
  • 500+ jobs completed

Impact Windows

Impact windows replace ordinary glass with a laminated assembly built to stay in its frame when something hits it. We supply and install impact-resistant and hurricane-rated windows across Florida, with Dade County approved products and custom sizing for openings that aren't standard.

  • Built to the strictest code in the country. We carry Dade County approved products, tested against the Florida Building Code. That testing is why a window can take repeated impact and still hold its frame.
  • Custom sizes, not just catalogue sizes. Older Florida homes rarely have standard openings. We measure and order to fit rather than forcing a stock unit into a gap it wasn't made for.
  • Aluminium and vinyl frames. Both frame materials, in a range of colours and wood-grain finishes. Which one suits you depends on the opening, the exposure and the look you're after.

Impact Doors

A door is an opening like any other, and code treats it the same way. We supply and install impact-resistant doors across Florida: entry doors, sliding patio doors, and custom sizes where a standard unit won't fit.

  • Every opening counts. A hurricane-rated window next to an unrated door leaves the weak point exactly where the pressure goes. Doors need the same protection as windows.
  • Entry and patio. Front and back entry doors, and sliding glass patio doors, the largest single opening in most Florida homes and the one most worth protecting.
  • Custom sizes. We measure and order to fit, including openings that were never standard to begin with.

Impact Window Installation

Most people have never had impact windows fitted and don't know what the process involves. Here is what actually happens, in order, so there are no surprises.

  • 1. Measure and specify. We measure every opening and work out the design pressure each one has to meet, based on where it sits on the building. That determines the product, not the other way round.
  • 2. Quote and order. You get a written quote covering the units, the labour and what's included. Once it's agreed and the deposit clears, we place the order. Custom sizes are made to your measurements.
  • 3. Permits. Impact window and door work is permitted work in Florida. The permit is pulled before installation begins, and the product approval documentation goes with it.

Impact Window Replacement

Replacing what you already have is the most common job we do. Your openings already exist, so the work is about specifying the right unit for each one and fitting it so it performs to its rating.

  • Measured to your openings. We measure what is actually there rather than assuming standard sizes. Older Florida homes very often aren't standard.
  • Replacing non-impact glass. If your current windows are ordinary glass, they are the weak point in a storm regardless of how new they look.
  • Replacing older impact units. Impact windows fitted decades ago were tested to earlier standards. Frames and seals also age.

Choosing an Impact Window Company

There are a lot of impact window companies in Florida and the quotes vary enormously. Here is what actually separates them, and what to ask before you sign anything.

  • Ask who pulls the permit. Impact window work is permitted and inspected. If a quote is unusually cheap, ask whether the permit and inspection are included, and whether they are being pulled at all.
  • Ask about design pressure, not just 'impact rated'. Every opening has its own positive and negative design pressure depending on where it sits on the building. A company that specifies by opening rather than by catalogue is doing the job properly.
  • Ask for product approval documentation. Approved products carry documentation showing what they were tested to. You are entitled to see it for what is being installed in your home.

Who we work for

Not only single homes

The specification changes with the building. These are the four we take on.

Residential
Single openings through whole-house replacement. Custom sizes measured to your openings, not stock units off a shelf.
Commercial
Storefronts, offices and retail. Storefront door systems, work scheduled around trading hours, specification alongside architects.
Condo, HOA & multi-family
Building-wide programmes where the specification has to satisfy the association as well as the code.
New construction
We work with builders from the specification stage, so the design pressure is settled before the opening is framed.
